What this page is
This page quotes r/AirForce's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-10. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/AirForce's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
Advertisements for Air Force related Apps must go in megathread
If you want to advertise an Air Force related app of some kind, it may only be posted in the megathread. https://www.reddit.com/r/AirForce/comments/1ubsdiz/air_force_related_apps_megathread_you_may/
All 14 rules of r/AirForce
- Newbie questions
Questions about joining the AF through the AF Academy, ROTC, OTS, or BMT are to only be posted in our other community, /r/AirForceRecruits. Also, questions, asking about particular jobs will be posted there. Please make your posts there, and make sure to read the rules before posting. - No politics.
Discussion of divisive left/right politics has no place in this community. Some political topics that relate directly to the DAF or DoD will be allowed to be discussed, if they are presented in a neutral, factual way. - OPSEC/PII
Keep OPSEC in mind at all times. Do not post personally identifiable information about others or yourself. Black out names and other information if posting screenshots of emails, etc. - No personal attacks
No name calling or personal attacks against others. Discuss differing viewpoints and ideas, but there is no reason to make it personal. - Do not tell people to lie to enlist or commission
Do not tell people to lie in order to fraudulently enlist or commission. Even hinting or trying to workaround outright saying it will result in a ban. - No GoFundMe/fundraising links
It's difficult to verify that the money is actually going to the person it claims to, so these types of links are not allowed. - Troll posts will be deleted
If your post looks trolly, it'll be deleted. - No encouraging or joking about suicide
Suicide is a huge problem for military members, veterans, and society at large, and joking about it or encouraging it, even in an indirect way will not be tolerated at all. - Photos of people in uniform
Photos of people in uniform should be a public figure, or related to a news article or current event. Other photos of people in uniform should have their face and name tape obscured in some way. No making fun of people based on their appearance or personal attacks. - Air Force Related
Posts should be related to the Air Force either in the text/photo/video/link, or in the title of the post. Off-topic posts will be removed. - Add accurate post flair to your posts
Please add accurate flair to your post. This helps those that don't like certain content to be able to filter through the subreddit easier. Please do not make joke or mis-labeled post flair. - No 'research' posts
No research posts for PhD candidates or any other 'research' will be posted here. We get several of these requests a week and don't need the community clogged up with repetitive posts. - Satire posts must link to the original post
Satirical follow-up posts must link to the original post that they are satirizing, either in the post itself or in a comment. - Advertisements for Air Force related Apps must go in megathread
If you want to advertise an Air Force related app of some kind, it may only be posted in the megathread. https://www.reddit.com/r/AirForce/comments/1ubsdiz/air_force_related_apps_megathread_you_may/
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
