Can you promote on r/altcoin?

Only in a dedicated thread Its rules send self-promotion to a dedicated thread, such as a weekly or pinned one. Promotion outside it is removed.

/r/Altcoin is one of Reddit's original cryptocurrency subreddits, started 10+ years ago! Altcoins are generally considered everything but BTC - even ETH is considered an Altcoin

What its rules say about promotion

Rule II - Do not advertise
Reddit has [an excellent solution for advertising](https://about.reddit.com/advertise/). Don't use /r/altcoin exclusively for free publicity (e.g. referral links, spam, giveaways, airdrops, links to telegram, discord and other social media channels). We deal with a lot of spam and shilling so the ban hammer will be swift and painful. No URL shortening services for links. Low quality posts and questionable post histories are not welcome. Links that contribute to the discussion are welcome.

  1. Rule I - Follow the Golden Rule
    Treat everyone with respect, so be excellent to each other. No ad hominem attacks or insults.
  2. Rule II - Do not advertise

Intelligent discourse requires a standard system of communication. - Be open to gentle corrections. - No extreme NSFW meme images. - Quality over quantity; no low-effort posts - Keep in mind that English isn't the native language of some Redditors - No CAPS LOCK YELLING
  4. Rule IV - Be helpful
    Try to help fellow readers. - Everyone wants to become 1337 in blockchain, but started as a n00b. Help each other. - Last but not least, read the [Reddiquette](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/reddiquette)
  5. Rule V - No undervalued, moon, lambo talk
    Yes, we all are experts and gurus when it goes about cryptocurrencies and/or blockchain projects, so please share your thoughts about certain blockchain projects.
  6. Rule VI: CMC / CoinGecko Listing REQUIRED
    Due to excessive spam of 2 hour old tokens, we now require a CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko listing for all top level posts about an Altcoin. Paste in the CMC or Gecko URL with your post or it will be removed and you'll meet the ban hammer. Fear not shills, we have a weekly stickied thread for any Altcoin that does NOT have a listing, so feel free to post it there.
