What this page is
This page quotes r/backrooms's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-06. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/backrooms's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
On self-promotion:
- Self-promotion content is permitted, as long as it is Backrooms-related (with the exception of NFTs and cryptocurrencies) and respects the posting guidelines. - To promote any community (discord, subreddit…etc), **ask the mods first** through modmails. - Do not ask for subscribers or likes, people can choose by themselves if they like something or not. - Links to video games must be from reputable sources like Steam, Roblox, Gamejolt, or Itch.io.
What its rules say about AI and bots
AI generated content:
The use of Generative AI to produce or add to any form of content for this subreddit is prohibited. There are always other ways.
All 8 rules of r/backrooms
- You are expected to know about the Backrooms when posting.
If you don’t know what the Backrooms are, check our [faq](https://www.reddit.com/r/backrooms/wiki/faq). - Use common sense.
- Be respectful of others. - Check the related communities to make sure this is the right subreddit to post in. (For example if it is just a Liminal Space picture, then **don't** post it here, head to r/LiminalSpace instead.) - Not everything is Backrooms, off-topic posts will be removed. More info in the Posting Guidelines. - If you have a general or simple question, internet is usually a better option. - Treat the Backrooms as a fictional concept, this isn't a roleplay community. - Follow posting guidelines.
- Add a body text to your post. - Set the correct flair. - Be constructive. - Posting guidelines in details can be found [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/backrooms/wiki/posting-guidelines). - Low quality posts:
- You are expected to determine by yourself whether or not your post is worth it. Any post deemed as Low-Quality will be subject to removal. More info in the [Posting Guidelines](https://www.reddit.com/r/backrooms/wiki/posting-guidelines/). - Reposts, crossposts, and oversaturated topics:
- Reposts of any kind will be removed. - If a post was recently made about what you want to talk about, post a comment under said post, do not create a new one for the same topic. - Crossposts aren’t allowed in the community unless something is added to it. - Oversaturated topics will usually have a dedicated megathread, and they won’t when it is not interesting enough for the subreddit. In both cases posting about oversaturated topics makes your post subject to removal. - On self-promotion:
- Self-promotion content is permitted, as long as it is Backrooms-related (with the exception of NFTs and cryptocurrencies) and respects the posting guidelines. - To promote any community (discord, subreddit…etc), **ask the mods first** through modmails. - Do not ask for subscribers or likes, people can choose by themselves if they like something or not. - Links to video games must be from reputable sources like Steam, Roblox, Gamejolt, or Itch.io. - AI generated content:
The use of Generative AI to produce or add to any form of content for this subreddit is prohibited. There are always other ways. - Strictly disallowed content:
- NSFW material. If it’s Not Safe For Work, it’s not safe for the community. This goes for any potentially disturbing content. - Private information. Your personal information has nothing to do in this subreddit. - Politically motivated content. This doesn’t include critics of world politics through the fictional narrative of a story in a writing or a video. - Drama. Do not post with for sole intent to create or feed a drama. - Scams or content that could lead to scams. - Spoilers of the movie
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
