What its rules say about promotion

This is a family friendly subreddit, no NSFW allowed.
We do not allow NSFW content on r/Belgium. This means no sexual content or advertisment, but also no gore or graphically disturbing images or videos. Discussing NSFW subjects is allowed in text form, aslong as it does not break any other rules.
All 13 rules of r/belgium
  1. No flaming, insults or personal attacks.
Please try to bring your point across without insulting other users. You are free to disagree with their opinions as much as you want, but we draw the line at shouting matches.
  2. No discimination, racism, or bigotry.
Racism or pejorative generalizations of humans belonging to sexual, ethnic and/or religious groups are not allowed. You are allowed to criticize religions and cultures unless it veers over into blatant xenophobia, conspiracy theory, homophobia or racism (i.e. Protocols of the Elders of Zion-esque stuff).
  3. Do not editorialise articles or article titles.
Post the full article as a link, partial screenshots are not allowed. Do not editorialize titles unless the title itself is a clickbait title. Preferred type of change in that case is something along the lines of "Person X" talk about "subject Y". (If you want to summarize articles, feel free to do so in the comments).
  4. No agenda pushing.
r/belgium does not want to serve as an outlet for propaganda. If we feel you are not contributing to r/belgium "in good faith" but solely to push an agenda, we will remove you from the community. This applies to new accounts especially.
  5. Do not advocate serving Belgian beer in beer glasses that weren't specifically designed for them.
Do not advocate serving Belgian beers in beer glasses that weren't specifically designed for those beers. If the beer has no specific glass, the rule can't be violated, but it's probably not worth drinking anyway.
  6. Respect [Serious] threads.
Threads with a title that start with '[serious]' are posted by users that want to have a serious discussion without jokes etc. derailing the debate. We will remove such comments.
  7. Do not post content prohibited by Belgian law.
For liability reasons, don't ask or give advice on stuff that is illegal under Belgian law. [We also adhere the Belgian copyright laws pertaining paywalled/off-line articles.](https://www.reddit.com/r/belgium/comments/8oza5f/announcement_new_rule_pertaining_to_paywalled_or/)
  8. Only post content relevant to Belgium or Belgians.
  9. We adhere the Belgian copyright laws pertaining paywalled/off-line articles.
We adhere the Belgian copyright laws pertaining paywalled/off-line articles.
  11. No duplicate threads.
To avoid clutter on the front page and to keep discussions centralized to one thread, we will remove duplicate threads or threads that are on the same topic. Aswell as reposts, posts that have been posted only recently.
  12. Personal questions belong in the FAQ thread.
To avoid clutter on the front page and frustration with the regular users, we ask you to post FAQ (questions about dating, packages, housing, job, student life, ..) in the daily slowchat thread. You can find the definition of a FAQ in the wiki.
  13. No surveys.
We admire any of your academic pursuits but don't allow surveys nonetheless, to prevent the non-stop influx it would soon become.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
