What its rules say about promotion

Self-promo allowed (with substance)
You can promote your startup or project, but not as drive-by marketing. If you post promo, include at least: what you’re building, who it’s for, current stage/traction (even if it’s zero), what you want feedback on. Low-effort “check my project” posts get removed.
No referral links
Referral/affiliate links are removed. Don’t post links with tracking parameters like ref=, affiliate=, etc. Clean links are fine.

What its rules say about AI and bots

No spam / lead capture
No bot spam, mass-posting, low-effort promos, or engagement farming. Also no “DM me for details”, “join my group”, “click my invite link” style funnel posts. If it matters, post the details publicly.
All 8 rules of r/BlockchainStartups
  1. Follow Reddit rules
Reddit sitewide rules apply here. No illegal content, harassment, doxxing, scams, or anything that risks the community getting nuked.
  2. Flair required
Every post must have a flair. Choose the flair that actually matches your post. Misleading flair = removal.
  3. Don’t be a douchebag
Keep it respectful. No insults, harassment, slurs, or personal attacks. Heated debate is fine. Being abusive is not.
  4. No spam / lead capture
No bot spam, mass-posting, low-effort promos, or engagement farming. Also no “DM me for details”, “join my group”, “click my invite link” style funnel posts. If it matters, post the details publicly.
  5. Self-promo allowed (with substance)
You can promote your startup or project, but not as drive-by marketing. If you post promo, include at least: what you’re building, who it’s for, current stage/traction (even if it’s zero), what you want feedback on. Low-effort “check my project” posts get removed.
  6. Verification required for some flairs
To keep the sub clean, some post types are gated behind Verified Human: Startup Promo, Token/Coin, Airdrop, Jobs. If you want to post in those categories, verify via the pinned post. Verified users get “Approved Submitter” and auto-approved posts.
  7. No referral links
Referral/affiliate links are removed. Don’t post links with tracking parameters like ref=, affiliate=, etc. Clean links are fine.
  8. Job post requirements
If you post a job or “looking for work”, include: role + type (full-time/contract), compensation (range or at least paid/unpaid), remote/location, how to apply (publicly, not DM-only).

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
