What its rules say about promotion

Stay on topic
Posts must be about blogging, SEO, content strategy, affiliate monetization, website growth, analytics, publishing systems, or related traffic-building topics.
No spam or link dumping
Do not post just to drop your blog, tool, offer, agency, newsletter, affiliate link, or YouTube channel. You risk instant ban.
No thin self-promotion
If you mention your own site, tool, or content, it must be directly relevant and the post must still be useful without the link. if you mention without context or added value, you risk being banned.
No direct affiliate links
Discuss programs if relevant, but no raw affiliate links in posts or comments. Instant ban when caught.

  4. Make posts worth replying to
Low-effort one-liners, vague “how do I get traffic” posts, headline-only posts, and generic AI sludge may be removed.
  5. No abuse or weird guru behavior
Debate is fine. Personal attacks, arrogance, dunking on beginners, and fake flexing are not. Treat everyone with respect, condescending comments and harassments not allowed.
  6. No direct affiliate links

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
