Can you promote on r/Boots?

No rule mentions promotion None of its rules mentions self-promotion. That is not permission: read every rule, say plainly that it's yours, and make the post useful on its own.

What this page is

This page quotes r/Boots's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Boots's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

All 5 rules of r/Boots
  1. Only boots allowed
Unsurprisingly, r/Boots is only for posting.. boots! We only use the traditional definition for boots here, so just because something may contain "boot" in the name doesn't mean it is a true boot. For example "football boots" haven't been boots for nearly a century and don't belong here because they are now cleats, which are a type of shoe, not a boot.
  2. Must be SFW
NSFW content is not allowed. And for the record, just because it may feature a girl does not make it NSFW.
  3. Don’t be a dick
Insulting people for their boots, looks, fashion choices, gender, sexuality, race, etc.. or just generally being an asshole will get you banned. And no, this doesn't apply to someone simply expressing their opinions on the boots themselves, even if you don't like what they said.
  4. Shove politics up your ass
Nobody gives a fuck if you want to bitch about the libs or magats, color of laces, domestic vs international companies, communists, socialists, anarchists, antifa, and whatever other bullshit you want to spew.
  5. No shilling
Please be objective and/or have some breadth of experience with the subject matter to have such hot takes.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
