What its rules say about promotion

Spam or Self Promotion
Community events, surveys, and relevant announcements may be allowed within reason. Repeated or excessive self promotional content that overwhelms the subreddit may be removed at the moderators’ discretion.

Open discussion is encouraged; however, hateful, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or otherwise derogatory behavior will not be tolerated. Respectful engagement is expected at all times.
  2. Respecting Privacy and Preventing Harm

Posts that risk revealing personal information, identifying private residences, or compromising anyone’s well-being may be removed at the moderators’ sole and absolute discretion. Content based on unverifiable claims, rumours, or potential misinformation that could cause harm to an individual or the community may also be removed.

The moderation team will cooperate with Reddit administrators and any lawful governing body or authority that requests assistance regarding content posted within this subreddit. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
