What this page is
This page quotes r/brisbane's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/brisbane's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

What its rules say about promotion
Calls to violence or promotion of violence
Any calls to violence of an individual/group will be removed by mods and further action may be taken. Calling for violence breaks Reddit's rules and r/Brisbane's.
Commercial Content
*Business and marketing* posts are generally not allowed, unless they are infrequent, and they provide an "r/Brisbane-only" offer. If you want to advertise on Reddit, do it [officially](https://www.redditinc.com/advertising). *Private* sellers of stuff (people who are moving house, or having a garage sale) is occasionally tolerated _in the daily thread_, as long as it's infrequent.
Self promotion
Self promotion posts will be treated as permissible as long as it holds value to the community. Any "free" websites or services that are highly suspect due to "vibe coding" will not be permitted. mods may make exceptions where the benefit to the community justifies the exception
All 8 rules of r/brisbane
- Insulting other users
Please treat each other kindly, this is a community page. Warnings may be given but further attempts will result in bans. - No relation at all to Brisbane or SEQld, doesn't involve Brisbane people or mention Brisbane
Due to extreme over-reporting for this reason we wish to clarify: discussions about things that have happened in or around Brisbane, that involve Brisbane people, that have some connection to Brisbane, or nearby places, are OK. Only use this reason to report posts that have nothing, whatsoever, to do with Brisbane. - Bigotry against race or gender or disability or religion etc
Bigotry is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Comments that are openly bigoted in any manner will result in an immediate ban. - Calls to violence or promotion of violence
Any calls to violence of an individual/group will be removed by mods and further action may be taken. Calling for violence breaks Reddit's rules and r/Brisbane's. - Illegal activity
Anyone that is found posting to encourage illegal activity will be banned immediately. Protesting is not generally illegal, and discussion about protesting is not illegal. Advocacy for changing laws is not illegal activity. Advocating violence is already against the rules. - Commercial Content

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
