What this page is
This page quotes r/ChatbotRefugees's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/ChatbotRefugees's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
Use proper flair when possible!
Please use the proper flair on your posts. If your post is advertisement of a chatbot, please mark it as such. If you are asking questions about chatbots, please mark it correctly. if you are recommending/reviewing a chatbot site/app please mark it as recommendation. We understand there are many types of posts, and we have a growing list of flair types. Do your best! Repeated issue with wrong flairs will be reviewed.
No discrimination or hate speech
Hate speech, discrimination, or harassment of any kind is not allowed. This includes attacks, slurs, demeaning language, or harmful stereotypes based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Content that promotes or glorifies hate will be removed and may result in further action. We want everyone to feel welcome here, no matter who they are. This will not be tolerated AT ALL, WHATSOEVER.
No self-promotion
Developers are only allowed to make promotional posts on the designated day or under the monthly megathread. For university researchers, please reach out to mods through mod mail first before posting.
What its rules say about AI and bots
Don't spam
Please avoid spam and repetitive content. This includes posting the same or very similar content multiple times, low effort posts, and flooding the subreddit with rapid posts or comments. If you have multiple things to share, consider combining them into a single post. This includes the use of bots, scripts, or automated programs to post, comment, or artificially manipulate engagement. Accounts that are detected to have bot-like activities will be permanently banned.
All 9 rules of r/ChatbotRefugees
- No NSFW content
Please try to keep all content SFW. While discussions about AI chatbots may sometimes touch on mature topics, all posts, comments, images, videos, chatbot screenshots, roleplay logs, and generated media must remain SFW. Explicit sexual content will be removed. When in doubt, err on the side of caution. - Don't spam

Please, don't go off topic! Keep it on the topic of chatbots as best you can! - Profanity in moderation
Profanity is allowed in moderation. Casual swearing is fine, but excessive, graphic, or aggressive language is not. Slurs, harassment, targeted insults, or profanity used to attack other users will be removed. Keep language appropriate for a general audience and respectful toward others. We have a loose limit to less than 7 or 8 on a post, and 4 or 5 a comment. - No discrimination or hate speech
Hate speech, discrimination, or harassment of any kind is not allowed. This includes attacks, slurs, demeaning language, or harmful stereotypes based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. This will not be tolerated AT ALL, WHATSOEVER. - Respect everyone
Be respectful to other users. Personal attacks, insults, name calling, harassment, dogpiling, or deliberately antagonistic behavior are not allowed. Disagreements are fine, but keep discussions civil and address ideas rather than attacking people. - No self-promotion
Developers are only allowed to make promotional posts on the designated day or under the monthly megathread. For university researchers, please reach out to mods through mod mail first before posting. - Constructive Ranting only
Ranting is allowed, but rants must be constructive. Posts should aim to express frustration in a thoughtful way that encourages discussion or understanding, not simply vent negativity. Excessively hostile, aggressive, or inflammatory rants, as well as rants intended to provoke arguments or target others, are not allowed and may be removed
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
