What this page is
This page quotes r/cheapflights's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/cheapflights's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
Don't Spam - No Sketchy Links
Don't spam our subreddit with affiliate links, website mentions, links or mentions of personal projects/websites (unless they are genuinely helpful to the community), or coupon codes, you may get banned for doing so. If you post links make sure they are reputable trustworthy websites and/or interesting and helpful to other community members.
Do not ask people to DM you to sell "points" or "better deals" etc
Anyone trying to entice members to DM them to "get better deals" or sell "airline points" will be banned, the risk of members getting scammed is just too high.
All 8 rules of r/cheapflights
- Check the Pinned Post Before Asking Where to Find Cheap Flights
We have an extensive list of good websites to find cheap flights pinned at the top here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cheapflights/s/2Blt8I1oJD Please review that before asking the same question. - Always include Your Preferred Dates and Destinations When Asking for Help Finding a Cheap Flight.
It's very hard for community members to help you if they don't know your preferred dates and destinations. Always include this information when asking for help to find cheap flights. - Be Kind & Polite
If you don't have something nice to say, better to say nothing at all. We are all at different places in our experiences of flying and life in general, be kind and don't ridicule other community members, instead try to be helpful and kind. - Don't Spam - No Sketchy Links
- Stay Relevant - Keep Discussions on The Topic of Finding Cheap Flights and Saving Money on Flights
This is not the right subreddit to vent about your frustrations with travel companies, travel websites or airlines. It is also not the place to write reviews about travel websites, there are better places for that, such as TrustPilot. Please stay on the topic of trying to help each other find cheap flights and ways to save money when flying. Positive, friendly and helpful tips and advice on how to find the cheapest flights and saving money when travelling is what we try to focus on here. - Don't Give Bad Advice
Posting your opinion is generally fine, but please don't give travelers what is obviously bad advice. This is also not the right sub for leaving negative reviews about airlines or travel companies etc. We want to keep this a positive and helpful community for everyone - Do not ask people to DM you to sell "points" or "better deals" etc
Anyone trying to entice members to DM them to "get better deals" or sell "airline points" will be banned, the risk of members getting scammed is just too high. - Do not use "vote manipulation" or "traffic manipulation"
Anyone using paid upvotes or downvotes, or traffic manipulation (sending lots of bot traffic to try to get better rankings in Google for their post) will get permanently banned.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
