Can you promote on r/claudeskills?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/claudeskills's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/claudeskills's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Skills are folders of instructions, scripts, and resources that Claude loads dynamically to improve performance on specialized tasks. Skills teach Claude how to complete specific tasks in a repeatable way, whether that's creating documents with your company's brand guidelines, analyzing data using your organization's specific workflows, or automating personal tasks. You no longer need a folder full on prompts, you upload once and simply ask Claude to use that skill whenever you need it.

What its rules say about promotion

Sharing your own skill? Show your work
If you promote a skill you made, include a link to the repo or a downloadable file, or explain how you built it. Say whether it is free, open source, or paid. This does not apply to news, questions, discussion, or asking for help finding a skill. A screenshot of your own work with no link or detail will be removed.
No spam
No external stores, reselling accounts or API keys, link shorteners, affiliate dumps, posting the same thing across many subs, or clickbait titles.
Use post flair
Every post needs a flair: Skill Share, Skill Request, Showcase, Question, Discussion, News, or Guide. Posts without flair may be removed until you add one.
No piracy or terms of service breaches
Nothing that breaks Anthropic's terms, including selling or sharing accounts, posting API keys, or content meant to get around usage limits.
Don't ask for or send referral codes
Don't ask for or send referral codes, especially Claude ones.
All 8 rules of r/claudeskills
  1. Stay on topic
Posts must relate to Claude/Agent skills, the tools around them, or how people use them. Sharing, news, questions, discussion, and requests for help all count. Off topic posts and unrelated products or services will be removed.
  2. Be kind
Treat people with respect. No personal attacks, harassment, or bad faith arguing. Criticise the work, not the person.
  3. Sharing your own skill? Show your work

  4. No spam
No external stores, reselling accounts or API keys, link shorteners, affiliate dumps, posting the same thing across many subs, or clickbait titles.
  5. Put in some effort
Give people something to respond to. A genuine question or request is fine, even a short one. A bare title with no context, or a common question already answered many times, may be removed.
  6. Use post flair
Every post needs a flair: Skill Share, Skill Request, Showcase, Question, Discussion, News, or Guide. Posts without flair may be removed until you add one.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
