What this page is

This page quotes r/cocktails's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-06. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/cocktails's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Our mission is to be a welcoming community where anyone can learn all about making and drinking cocktails as well as the culture surrounding them.

What its rules say about promotion

Posts should invite discussion
A post should promote or invite discussion, for example with interesting context, questions, or thoughts. If you post an article, explain why it might be of interest to others. Posts that serve only to show off pictures of bottles/ice/bars are generally not allowed unless accompanied by a cocktail.

What its rules say about AI and bots

No AI-generated content
AI-generated posts, comments, images and apps are not allowed. If you suspect AI-generated content, please use the report function for mod review.
All 4 rules of r/cocktails
  1. Include a recipe
If you post a cocktail you made, you must include a full recipe in text that specifies ingredients (including measurements) and instructions (shaken/stirred/built/etc), including for anything made in house. If you post a cocktail you ordered, you must include ingredients, bar name and location.
  3. No AI-generated content
AI-generated posts, comments, images and apps are not allowed. If you suspect AI-generated content, please use the report function for mod review.
  4. Be nice
Be considerate of others and treat them like people. Please keep comments constructive and on topic. Posts that exist solely to shame others or rage bait will be removed.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
