What this page is

This page quotes r/cork's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-11. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/cork's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

What its rules say about promotion

Spam / Self-promotion
[As per Reddit policy](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion) - You can promote your blog /website, just so long as it's only a small part of what you do. Blatant spamming will not be tolerated. Posting photos of pets, any landscapes/landmarks, or candid photos belonging to you (or you have received consent to post) is not considered to be spam outside of any excessive posting. Accounts may not post solely to advertise the sale of goods such as t-shirts, CBD stores, or otherwise.
Requests for/sale of prohibited goods
Post or comments requesting or looking to sell prohibited goods in any form is not tolerated on the subreddit. This includes illegal drugs, weapons and sexual services. The offending poster will be banned.
No buying and selling allowed.
Due to being unable to tell if a sale is genuine there will no longer be posts allowed in relation to buying and selling.
No job posts
Posting job requests and job advertisements is not allowed in this subreddit.
No standalone news/clickbait posts
We are against banning outright any news outlets, but to avoid this subreddit becoming a promotional site for Cork-based news outlets (e.g. Corkbeo, Irish Examiner, and Evening Echo, etc), please include your opinion when posting a news link on r/Cork.
All 10 rules of r/cork
  1. Spam / Self-promotion
[As per Reddit policy](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion) - You can promote your blog /website, just so long as it's only a small part of what you do. Blatant spamming will not be tolerated. Hate speech in any form is not tolerated on the subreddit. This includes homophobia, transphobia, and racism. Any hate speech will be removed, with the offending poster banned. Additionally, cross-links to hate subs/sites will be removed. Posting comments / links with hate speech will also be removed and users banned. Additionally, unreasonable general abuse towards other users will not be tolerated. "Call out" threads, and tagging users to ridicule them is considered abuse.
  3. Privacy
[Doxxing](http://www.economist.com/blogs/economist-explains/2014/03/economist-explains-9) in any form is not tolerated. Posting links / comments to personal social media will be removed, and posting users will be banned. This is inclusive of screenshots of social media accounts containing any identifiable information, and photographs of users without consent. (Public figures, or wanted/missing persons with an official Garda Report/news story an exception).
  4. Candid/Non-consenting explicit content
Any candid/non-consenting explicit/sensitive imagery or videos of any persons uploaded to the r/Cork subreddit will result in an immediate ban without recourse. This also includes requests for services and hookups etc. The moderators of r/Cork will work with any legal requests submitted for poster information or otherwise in the event of a user uploading any content of this manner.
  5. Following other users to target or harass them on or off-sub
Following around other users either on-sub or off-sub to harass them is not tolerated. This includes derailing a user's comment elsewhere on reddit to drop snide/abusive remarks, or to continue on an argument from elsewhere. If you dislike a user, exercise using the block function. If a user is following you around either on r/Cork or elsewhere to leave abusive comments, [contact the mods with a list of comments/posts targeted.](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2Fcork)

Meta-threads about modding decisions will generally be ignored also but you are free if you have complaints to message the mods and report; the mods will discuss these matters in private.
  8. No buying and selling allowed.
Due to being unable to tell if a sale is genuine there will no longer be posts allowed in relation to buying and selling.
  9. No job posts

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
