What this page is
This page quotes r/Craptopgamingadvice's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Craptopgamingadvice's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Welcome to r/CraptopGamingAdvice, the place where weak desktops and laptops get strong opinions. We help you squeeze every last frame out of old iGPUs, budget machines, and questionable hardware choices. Ask what your craptop can run, share tweaks, compare potato‑tier GPUs, and get real, judgment‑free advice from people who’ve been there. If you have higher end hardware you are more than welcome to join and post too! We welcome all makes and models, from Craptops to Desktops.
All 7 rules of r/Craptopgamingadvice
- Be respectful to your fellow Redditors, help when you can, and read through the Optimization guide.
Be helpful, not elitist If you’re rocking a high end machine, awesome — but remember this sub exists because many people aren’t. Advice > bragging. Optimization guide https://www.reddit.com/r/Craptopgamingadvice/comments/gqe553/darktower7899s_laptop_optimization_guide/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button - Low end is our specialty, but high end is welcome too.
Most posts are about struggling desktops and laptops, but high end users can ask questions, share tweaks, or help others. Just don’t flex for no reason. - Include your specs CPU, GPU/iGPU, RAM. Doesn’t matter if it’s a potato or a powerhouse.
Without your specs it is impossible to help. - Don't make fun of others systems.
No hardware shaming Whether someone’s gaming on a Celeron brick or a 4090 laptop that weighs more than their GPA, everyone gets treated with respect. We help — we don’t roast. - No NSFW photos or videos. You may post whatever you like not tech related however.
No NSFW photos or videos. That will get you banned. If you post something not tech related, please use the Meme/Humor Flair. - No asking for ROM download locations.
The emulation tag is for discussing roms and emulators. If you want resources to download then r/piracy is the place for that. - No Trolls.
No Minesweeper, Solitaire, Windows, Chrome Dinosaur Game, etc as recommendations when someone is trying to figure out what they can run. Too many people are posting this, and I am tired of trying to keep up with it.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
