What this page is
This page quotes r/decomps's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/decomps's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about promotion
No spam
Excessive off topic promotion or advertising of any kind is not allowed. Content on decomps, recomps and PC source ports are allowed (yes the subreddit is called decomps...we get it haha)
All 4 rules of r/decomps
- Respect others and be civil
No harassment, hate speech, or toxic behavior. Treat all contributors and members with kindness. - No spam
Excessive off topic promotion or advertising of any kind is not allowed. Content on decomps, recomps and PC source ports are allowed (yes the subreddit is called decomps...we get it haha) - Don’t post 3+ topics back to back
Multiple posts a day is fine. Multiple posts in an hour is not. If you have more than one thing to talk about please space it out by like four’ish hours - No "Please Make X decomp / recomp / PC port"
Please don't clog up the subreddit with "will someone make x" or "id love y game"
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
