What this page is
This page quotes r/diablo2's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/diablo2's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). What its rules say about promotion
Self Promotion - Content Must Stand on it's own
- Posts that link to your own channel, video, site, or project must contain the substance in the post itself. Posts with only a link or minimal content will be removed. - Content must intend to have continuous service. No streams or "limited time" content. - You must have a history of participating here outside your own threads. - No linked content may be behind a paywall of any kind. - Only one self promoting post per 7 days.
Bots and Hacks.
Please do not post the names of or links to bots or hacks. This rule is specific to battle.net and does not include mods like PlugY, MedianXL, item editors, etc. If you post a screenshot, please remove any information that shows a bot or hack being used.
What its rules say about AI and bots
AI Content
- Content that is predominantly or entirely AI generated will be removed. - 3rd party tools that were generated using AI tools are allowed as long as you disclose the use of AI. - Using AI to translate, spell check, etc. is fine, so long as the original content was your own.
All 10 rules of r/diablo2
- Content should be related to Diablo 2 or Diablo 2 Resurrected.
Please do not post anything outside of this game's scope, including Diablo 1, Diablo 3, and other Diablo or Blizzard games. It will be removed. - Do not be offensive.
Try not to say any isms. - Trading and Price Checks should be directed to the Trading Communities
* Please do not post trades or price checks on the subreddit. Check out https://d2r.diablo.trade/ , https://traderie.com/diablo2resurrected , or one of the many Diablo 2 Discords that are around - Don't Beg
This includes asking for CD keys, asking for someone to buy the game for you, etc. This rule does not apply to giveaways. - AI Content
- Content that is predominantly or entirely AI generated will be removed. - 3rd party tools that were generated using AI tools are allowed as long as you disclose the use of AI. - Using AI to translate, spell check, etc. is fine, so long as the original content was your own. - Self Promotion - Content Must Stand on it's own
- Posts that link to your own channel, video, site, or project must contain the substance in the post itself. Posts with only a link or minimal content will be removed. - Content must intend to have continuous service. No streams or "limited time" content. - You must have a history of participating here outside your own threads. - No linked content may be behind a paywall of any kind. - Only one self promoting post per 7 days. - Avoid unreadable pictures of screens
Examples of content that will be removed: * Phone Screenshots that are blurry or poorly cropped The game is popular on consoles and we know it's a pain to get proper screenshots over to reddit. However, your photos of screens will still be removed if they are not an honest attempt at a decent picture - Memes are allowed, but they must be clearly and primarily related to Diablo II.
Rule of Thumb: If someone can understand it's about Diablo II without reading the comments, you're probably good. Not Allowed * Low-effort posts with minimal Diablo II relevance. * Memes that require the comments to explain the Diablo II connection. Not every meme can be covered by a written rule. Reach out if you have questions. - Bots and Hacks.
Please do not post the names of or links to bots or hacks. This rule is specific to battle.net and does not include mods like PlugY, MedianXL, item editors, etc. If you post a screenshot, please remove any information that shows a bot or hack being used. - Moderators have the right to remove and delete content and ban offending individuals.
In the past we've had major problems regarding spam and bots. The subreddit was actually created by a spammer and stayed that way for many years. Bans and temporary bans will be given to excessive rule breakers (generally more than 2 offenses).
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
