Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Ethiopia's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life. Please help keep this a productive space for discussion by respecting each other's opinions.
  2. No racism
Do not partake in or defend any form of discrimination or bigotry.
  3. No Abusive Language
Do not use personal insults, harass, or use aggressive language against individual users or groups. This includes insults based on gender, race, sexual orientation, religious beliefs and political stance.
  4. No harassment
No trolling or harassment will be tolerated. Users should engage with the community with honest intentions and in good faith, users should assume the same from other contributors.
  5. No advertisements
    No advertisements or self promotion.
  6. Misleading/click-bait headlines are not allowed
Links must come from their original source. Titles should match the content of the post. Posts with misleading/editorialised/click-bait headlines, or that contain incorrect information, will be removed. Don't edit title in a way that changes the overall narrative of the article, only edit the title to improve clarity or better summarise.
  7. Other reasons your post may be removed

  8. No editorialising and use descriptive titles for self submissions.
Submissions must have titles comprised of the exact copied and pasted main headline from the linked content. Do not add, remove or change words. Only change to title to improve clarity or better summarise. For original content, do use factual and objective titles. Submissions may be removed if the title is too vague, inflammatory or editorialised. If you have an opinion about the article you are submitting, please post it in the comments instead. Please very clearly tag nsfw content.
  9. No Screenshots
Please do not post screenshots of news, links, or articles. Post the original link, with the original title.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
