What this page is

This page quotes r/ExecutiveDysfunction's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/ExecutiveDysfunction's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Executive function is the ability to plan, organise, and complete tasks. In people with developmental issues and mental illnesses, executive functioning skills often end up disordered. This sub is for those of us who are looking for support with executive function, strategies for dealing with executive dysfunction, and anyone else who might be interested in issues around organising tasks and getting them done. What its rules say about promotion

AMAs and Research Recruitment Require Approval
See our [verification page](https://www.reddit.com/r/ExecutiveDysfunction/wiki/verification) for instructions • Ask Me Anything - We will only host AMAs with notable ED experts. This may include disorders related to ED • Research Study Recruitment - We will only approve scholarly research relevant to ED - Proof of academic institution affiliation and IRB approval or exemption is required - Commercial research for apps, homework help, and class projects will not be approved
No Advertising/Self Promotion
Genuine recommendations for tools and products that you use are okay within reason. If you made it or you are working on a product or app and are seeking feedback, we do not allow that. The sheer volume of posts and requests we get on this matter is staggering and predatory. You can pay people for their opinions and to test it, we are not a free resource. People are very vulnerable with their situations in this community and it is a safe space. We do not allow people to profit off of that.
All 10 rules of r/ExecutiveDysfunction
  1. Follow Wheaton's Law (Otherwise known as "be cool, man")
Keep it civil. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, dehumanization, discrimination, insulting, trolling, slap-fighting, bullying, etc. are not allowed. Constructive criticism is okay. Personal attacks are not. Posts that are found to have been subjected to brigading or which generate an inordinate number of reports may be subject to locking. Additionally, users who frequently demonstrate a pattern of engaging in uncivil conduct are subject to warnings, timeouts, or bans.
  2. Follow our Posting Criteria
All posts must be written in English and related to Executive Dysfunction.
  3. Do Not Ask For/Provide Medical Advice
If you think you may have Executive Dysfunction (or any other diagnosis) or an issue with your medication please ask a professional. We cannot provide medical service.
  4. No Alternative Medication or Substance Misuse
We only allow discussions of science-backed, evidence-based medication for treating Executive Dysfunction. • Please see r/leaves or r/petioles if you want support in cannabis cessation or using less cannabis.
  5. No Faith Based Practices/Pseudoscience
We accept that faith, meditation, and other intentional forms of self care can be helpful for some. However, these should be viewed as supplements to an *overall* treatment plan. Claims that Executive Dysfunction can be treated or cured through faith-based practices or recommendations for such practices as if they are a cure are prohibited. There is no such thing as a cure-all. Belief systems should also be respected within reason.
  6. No Anti-Psychiatry/Denialism/Toxic Positivity
Discussion of disability rights and societal critiques in the context of disabled people’ experiences are welcome. Suggesting that all psychiatry isn’t reputable or that a diagnosis can be willed away is *not* welcome here.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
