What this page is
This page quotes r/factorio's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/factorio's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
Rule 7: Don't come here only to plug your content
Reddit is a place for discussion, not advertising. Here are some [reddit-wide guidelines](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion) for self-promotion. Generally, be a part of the community you are posting in. People are likely to be more interested in your content that way. If you're a video creator, you may only post your Let's Play or streams once per month. We feel this is a good balance to keep the subreddit from becoming just an advertising platform.
Rule 9: No advertising unofficial merch without prior permission

All 9 rules of r/factorio
- Rule 1: All content must be related to Factorio
This is a subreddit for the game Factorio. If you want to post about other things, there are subreddits for that. Every post must be about Factorio or of content you have made that is directly inspired by Factorio (such as fan art). - Rule 2: All posts and comments must be in English
- Rule 3: No political content
- Rule 4: Be nice
Think about how your words affect others before saying them. - Rule 5: Take screenshots and explain them
[Take a screenshot](https://screenshot.help) (or a [video](https://obsproject.com/)), not a picture/recording with your phone. When posting a screenshot, add a comment explaining your image or pointing out what you want people to look at. Tips for making your screenshot better: When taking screenshots of a design, turn on `alt` mode, inserter arrows, and well lit in daytime or with lamps. When posting a rail design, hold a signal in your hand. When asking for help, avoid cropping screenshots. - Rule 6: No memes, low effort posts, or image macros
Post these to /r/Factoriohno instead. - Rule 7: Don't come here only to plug your content
Reddit is a place for discussion, not advertising. Here are some [reddit-wide guidelines](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/selfpromotion) for self-promotion. If you're a video creator, you may only post your Let's Play or streams once per month. We feel this is a good balance to keep the subreddit from becoming just an advertising platform. - Rule 8: No topics voted out by the community
The following posts are too common and will be removed: * Pictures of where you are playing Factorio. * Pictures of IRL things that remind you of Factorio. * Minor graphical glitches. * Inescapable spawns. * Achievements / end screens (without more context). * "It's so addicting!" (without more context). * "Today I Learned" for features re-discovered. * "Looking for Group", something like [Discord](https://discord.gg/factorio) is more appropriate. Updated [Feb 7 2023](https://redd.it/10vnp4a). - Rule 9: No advertising unofficial merch without prior permission

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
