What this page is

This page quotes r/fivenightsatfreddys's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-13. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/fivenightsatfreddys's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

What its rules say about promotion

Advertisements
This includes other subreddits, Youtube channels, playthroughs, items for sale etc. FNAF videos/streams from YouTubers well known to the community may be exempt from this rule. Fundraisers, contests, and livestreams may be posted with permission gained by modmail.
All 11 rules of r/fivenightsatfreddys
  1. Read the Guidelines Post
[Click here to read the post.](https://old.reddit.com/r/fivenightsatfreddys/comments/1ltaoqq/rfivenightsatfreddys_guidelines_post/)Sub-rules, policies and fangame regulations can be found here. When in doubt, send a modmail. We don't bite.
  2. Disrespectful
Essentially, don't be a jerk. Remember that debating is always allowed, so long as it remains respectful (i.e attacking another user is not "debating"). In addition, discriminating against anyone's race or sexual orientation will result in a ban. Rule 2 also extends to theories. Just because someone believes in a different theory than you does not make them inferior to you, nor does it give you the right to harass them.
  3. Unrelated
Keep posts related to Five Nights at Freddy’s / the FNaF community only. This includes non-FNaF characters that have crossed over from Scott's previous titles, such as Coffee, Animdude and Chipper. You may also make posts regarding the community such as "what I think about the community", etc, as long as it remains respectful and does not break any other rule. Posts that attack community members and/or moderators will be removed.
  4. NSFW
No pornography. Light NSFW (Gore, Suggestive) is permitted as long as it is tagged as NSFW/Spoiler. Sexual comments such as just commenting the word “hot” or “send me a nude version” are not allowed.
  5. Advertisements
This includes other subreddits, Youtube channels, playthroughs, items for sale etc. FNAF videos/streams from YouTubers well known to the community may be exempt from this rule. Fundraisers, contests, and livestreams may be posted with permission gained by modmail.
  6. Reddiquette
    Follow the [Reddiquette.](https://www.reddithelp.com/en/categories/reddit-101/reddit-basics/reddiquette)
  7. Piracy/Stealing
Pirating is strictly forbidden. Do not link websites sharing paid content for free. Reposting artwork, especially without proper credit and permission from the owner counts as stealing content. Always credit the original owners of the content you are posting, even if it's "public" or "not trademarked." You can do this in the comments or title of the post and simply posting the name of the person with 'credit to' is sufficient enough.
  8. Low-Effort/Low-Quality Content
No low-effort and/or low-quality posts. See the full list of rule-breaking topics [in the Guideline post](https://lm.reddit.com/r/fivenightsatfreddys/comments/qz46b6/rfivenightsatfreddys_guidelines_post/?).
  9. Misleading/Undescriptive/Self-Deprecating Titles
Titles of posts should not be self-deprecating, misleading or clickbait. Tricking users can result in a ban. The title should be as concise as possible and give users an idea of what the post is about without having to click on the post itself.
  10. Spam
This includes extremely short or one word comments, posting many times within a short timeframe, and posting/commenting the same thing repeatedly in one post or a variety of posts. Sing-a-long chains, complaining about the post breaking a rule and commenting about the comment section of the post count under this rule. You can report any post by using the report button or sending a modmail.
  11. No Politics
We prohibit political discussion because it is inherently difficult, if not borderline impossible to moderate, not because we're trying to silence or minimize discussion on important political topics. On top of that, this isn't really the place for said discussion. This subreddit is about Five Nights at Freddy's. We encourage you to speak about political matters outside of the subreddit.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
