What this page is
This page quotes r/HomeServer's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-06. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/HomeServer's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

- Don't be a dick.
This is a great community with many awesome people, don't ruin that. Any negativity or unnecessary comments will be dealt with and possible bans will be handed out. The mod team does take note of abusive behavior. If you do not agree with the content of a post, this is no excuse to be an asshole, if you feel the content is not suitable for the community then please report it to the mods and they will review your feedback - Post Details.
Information is key. We love server builds and posts explaining what you do with your servers! Please put as much detail about your server(s) as possible regarding things like components, OS, software, etc. This applies for questions too, as in state what you want to do with your server, what your budget is, and any other special requirements. NO GENERALIZING. - Not Home Server Related.
Discussion about your server, server related news, questions you may have, and discussions about IT related topics are all acceptable reasons to post. Unrelated posts will be removed. - No discussions about Piracy.

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
