What its rules say about promotion
No self-promotion.
This subreddit is not to be leveraged for the financial or exposure benefit of any user. You may not promote a service, product, or publication with which you are associated. Failure to disclose any association will result in a ban. Products provided or discounted in exchange for a post/comment/review constitute a relationship with the providing company. Directing traffic to your own YouTube or other social media accounts is prohibited. (This includes watermarked videos.)
No referral links or link shortening.
Referral links (including Amazon Smile) allow others to potentially make money. Third party link shortening leads to redirects & potentially harmful websites. Amazon links need to be in the format www.amazon.com/dp/B00VRRVHMA/ - all the extra stuff after those 10 characters is unnecessary. First party link shorteners from mobile apps like Amazon and YouTube will be allowed. “I gave it a cold. I gave it a virus. A computer virus.” - Independence Day

- Be excellent to each other.
Comments containing insults or unconstructive criticism may be removed at moderator discretion. Report comments that cross the line rather than retaliating. We are here to share information & ideas about a shared hobby. A disagreement or difference of opinion does not warrant personal attacks of any kind. Keep in mind that everyone is in a different part of their home theater journey & may have differing priorities. “Be excellent to each other.” - Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure - Follow the reddit Content Policy - discussions of illegal activity prohibited.

Posts about soundbars are considered off-topic for r/hometheater and will be removed. - English Only
Posts and comments on this sub must be in English. - TV Too High
Comments or posts including references to TVTooHigh or any variation will be immediately removed and the user subject to an immediate ban. You can absolutely discuss and comment on the height of a TV in a theater setup but you must do so informatively and constructively.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
