What its rules say about promotion
3. No Self-Promotion Without Value
If you want to promote your business, product, or service, make sure your post adds real value to the community. Examples include sharing your journey, lessons learned, or tips.
4. Mark Promotional Posts Clearly
Use the Promotion flair for posts about your product, service, or brand.
5. Use the Right Flair
Choose the correct flair before posting. It helps others find relevant discussions. Example flairs include Startup, Funding, Marketing, Hiring, For Hire, Policy, and Advice.
What its rules say about AI and bots
No AI Generated Content
Posts and comments that are entirely AI-generated are not allowed. This includes using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools to write your post with no meaningful human input or editing. Sharing genuine experiences, insights, and questions in your own words keeps this community valuable. AI tools used to assist, refine, or structure your own original thoughts are fine, but copy-pasting AI output as-is is not. Violations will be removed; repeat offenders may be banned.

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
