Can you promote on r/indiemusic?

No rule mentions promotion It lists no rules on its Reddit rules page. That is not permission: read its sidebar and pinned posts, say plainly that it's yours, and make the post useful on its own.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? Indie music public subreddit that allows anyone to post their band, music, live show, videos, streaming and more to get some exposure. This subreddit is setup as an old school subreddit that is mostly driven from the users upvotes/downvotes and relies on reports/Automod rather than an overarching top down moderation. This is a people focused subreddit that fits the nature of indie music. Please be fair about letting others post and not taking the spotlight from others by over posting.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
