What this page is

This page quotes r/internships's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-10. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/internships's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

What its rules say about promotion

No spam or self promotion
Links to outside websites that you're suspected of having affiliation with will result in a permanent ban. Advertising any sort of product or service will also be met with a ban. Posting self-made content or other non-commercial affiliated external content requires moderator approval.
No unpaid internships
Posting or advertising unpaid internships is not allowed except under specific circumstances. The main exception is student-run startups. Requests can be made via modmail.
All 7 rules of r/internships
  1. Be kind
Be kind to one another. Most of us here are humans with feelings, so be aware of that please.
  2. No spam or self promotion
Links to outside websites that you're suspected of having affiliation with will result in a permanent ban. Advertising any sort of product or service will also be met with a ban. Posting self-made content or other non-commercial affiliated external content requires moderator approval.
  3. No unpaid internships
Posting or advertising unpaid internships is not allowed except under specific circumstances. The main exception is student-run startups. Requests can be made via modmail.
  4. This is not a job board
This subreddit is not glassdoor or indeed. This isn't the place to post your job nor is it the place to ask who is hiring.
  5. No low effort posts
Posts along the lines of "looking for tech internship in LA, who is hiring" will be removed.
  6. Search past posts before posting
Asking questions that have already been answered creates unnecessary clutter. Please read through past posts and try multiple searches before making a new post.
  7. Use the pinned posts
Pinned and stickied posts are meant to consolidate simple or very common topics and reduce unnecessary clutter. Please use them!

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
