Spam, clickbait, referral links, and promotional or commercial material are not allowed. This includes attempts to commercialize Jellyfin, advertise Jellyfin-related products or services, or repeatedly promote the same project across separate posts. Project updates, tester requests, community/server invites, and similar promotion should be kept to a reasonable frequency or consolidated where possible. - Support posts need details
Include your system info, configuration details, and troubleshooting steps already taken. Posts missing this information may be removed without warning. - Clear and descriptive titles
Titles should describe the topic and give enough context to understand the post without opening it. Vague titles like "Help" or "It doesn't work" aren't allowed, repost with a better one. - Be respectful and constructive
Keep discussions civil and on topic at all times. Disagreements are fine, personal attacks, hostility, and dismissiveness are not. - Low effort
Posts need enough context for meaningful discussion to happen. Short, headline-only, or vague posts without explanation may be removed, repost with more detail. - Posts and comments must be in English
All posts and comments must be written in English, including screenshots with English-visible text where possible. This keeps discussions searchable and accessible to the whole community, repost in English if needed.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
