What this page is
This page quotes r/LearnSomali's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/LearnSomali's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

What its rules say about promotion
Be Kind and Civil
Treat all members with kindness and respect. This is a space to support one another in our love for learning Somali. Avoid personal attacks. No hateful or discriminatory language will be tolerated. Additionally, promoting, endorsing, or engaging in Qabyaalad (clannism) or divisive clan-based rhetoric will result in strict action, including immediate bans. Trolling, immature, or hostile behavior along with mean spirited insults to Somali dialects or accents may result in a warning or ban.
Use OFFERING SERVICE flair if advertising services
Good teachers are key to language learning. We welcome Somali tutors, teachers, resource creators, and all similar posters to offer their services. However, We request that anyone advertising themselves use the OFFERING SERVICE flare.
What its rules say about AI and bots
Label AI Use
While AI tools (e.g. chatbots and translation apps) can be helpful in language learning, they should be used with caution. AI models are known to generate responses that are incorrect, misleading, or "hallucinated." Label any AI-generated content clearly to distinguish it from human-generated posts or advice. Yes this includes Google Translate.

We welcome corrections and advice. Though, if correcting someone’s Somali, do so in a constructive, polite manner. Be patient with one another and avoid mocking or ridiculing someone’s mistakes. - Stay On-Topic: Language Learning
r/LearnSomali is a place to learn Somali. All posts must be related to learning Somali or the Somali language. Discussions about related topics (such as Somali culture, history, or current events) are welcome of course. - No Misinformation
Only share language resources, advice, or information that is accurate and avoid posting from unreliable sources. If you are unsure, say so in your post. Your lived experience is also welcomed as a source for Somali language information, but be aware that others' understanding of the language may differ from yours. - Give Context - Avoid Low Effort Posts
We welcome simple questions and requests on words, sentences, and translations, but provide context to what you’re requesting and why to aid the advice that users will give you. For simple links to resources use the MATERIAL label add a sentence explaining the resource. Posts that ignore this rule may be removed, but can be posted again with the appropriate context. - Label AI Use

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
