What this page is
This page quotes r/makemychoice's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/makemychoice's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

What its rules say about AI and bots
R5: No AI written posts or comments.
Use your own words to describe the choice you have to make.
All 9 rules of r/makemychoice
- R1: All posts must describe a choice with at least two discrete option and include a TL;DR.
Walls of text concluding with a statement like, “What should I do?” Or “Please give me advice!” are not appropriate for this sub. Your post should present a choice you are deliberating and describe at least two concrete options for commenters to weigh in on. A TL;DR helps readers understand the options the OP is deciding between and helps the OP clearly describe the choice. - R2: No posts about suicide.
Please talk to a friend or family member. You are not alone, and you can visit /r/suicidewatch or search for a suicide hotline number if you need help. - R3: No posts about romantic relationships.
This is not a relationship advice sub. Consider posting in /r/relationships or /r/relationship_advice instead. Posts about other kinds of relationships are subject to removal at moderator discretion if they veer into /r/relationships territory. - R4: Carefully consider any posts about religion or politics.
Posts about religion or politics are subject to intense moderator scrutiny and may be removed at their discretion. Any attempt to push an agenda or start a political or religious argument is considered grounds for a ban. - R5: No AI written posts or comments.
Use your own words to describe the choice you have to make. - R6: No bigotry of any kind.
Racism, sexism, transphobia, and other types of hate speech will be removed and the OP will be banned. - R7: Be helpful and kind
Off-topic, unhelpful, and/or unkind comments will be removed. - R-8: No cross-posting
Just don’t do it. It won’t be in the necessary format for posting in this subreddit. You are welcome to make another post formatted correctly for this subreddit. Please remember to include a TD;LR for responses longer than one paragraph. - R9: Medical questions will be removed at moderator discretion
Posts about medication, surgery, dieting, body modification, gender affirming care, etc. will be closely monitored and approved on a case-by-case basis.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
