What this page is
This page quotes r/Marriage's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Marriage's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
No Commercial Interests
No submissions or comments from media marketers, personal blogs, podcasts or videos, donation requests, affiliate links, or any other attempts to use our community for profit, marketing etc. or any other commercial promotion. Such messages or posts will be removed.
Research Surveys
Surveys and research may be posted within a single monthly thread created by the mods and pinned to the top of this subreddit. These survey posts are allowed if and only if such research is scientific or academic and if the results will be published publicly without a paywall. No market or commercial research will be allowed. If you have questions, send a note to the Mods.
What its rules say about AI and bots
No Spam
Most submissions should be self-posts. Link submissions that foster discussion are allowed from active members. No AI content is allowed in any capacity. This includes modifying your own text for grammar or formatting.
Please Help
No bots or astroturf accounts that pretend to be real users or content. No AI generated posts or comments, including using AI to modify your own text for grammar/formatting. No ban evaders. Please assist the mods and report inappropriate posts, users, and comments. It is not ok to report something simply because we dislike the user who is commenting or because we dislike what they say despite it not violating the rules. Reporting frivolously is seen as report abuse.
All 12 rules of r/Marriage
- No Spam
Most submissions should be self-posts. Link submissions that foster discussion are allowed from active members. No AI content is allowed in any capacity. This includes modifying your own text for grammar or formatting. - No Commercial Interests
No submissions or comments from media marketers, personal blogs, podcasts or videos, donation requests, affiliate links, or any other attempts to use our community for profit, marketing etc. or any other commercial promotion. Such messages or posts will be removed. - Research Surveys
- Relevant Post Content
Posts must contain marriage-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content. Posts also must have text explaining the topic. No "AITA" posts. There are better ways to raise these issues. Title-only and 'AITA' posts are automatically removed. - No Discrimination
This is a pro-marriage equality subreddit. Discrimination based on legally protected classes (based in the US) such as race, gender, sexuality, gender identity, religion, age, ability, nationality, color, or creed will not be tolerated. - Be Respectful
This is a no-troll zone. Behavior whose sole purpose is meant to frighten, harass, attack, diminish, infuriate, insult, or manipulate another will, similarly, not be tolerated. This includes "YTA" comments. Reality is based on perception, if you test the limits, we'll likely err on the side of you or your comments getting blocked. We also expect that people respect others and their points of view while participating in the sub by maintaining civil discourse. - No Brigading
Brigading with comments that are rude or argumentative on a thread or cross-posting from any subreddit or forum that regularly breaks these rules is not allowed. - Please Help
- No Trolling
No coming to the sub with the intention to deliberately antagonize, mock, put down, and be a dick. It's not cute and you will be banned immediately. - Respect Enthusiastic Consent
Rhetoric such as "just do it," "but they didn't say no," "a real man would do it," "use your words," "they're not a mind reader!" and "but men/women have needs," is not tolerated here. Everyone needs proper consent, and it's time we respect the need for bodily autonomy and proper consent even within marriage. No one is entitled to another's body. Even spouses. https://www.rainn.org/articles/what-is-consent - No infighting.
Quit your bickering. Any sarcasm, needless back-and-forth arguing, and derailing threads will be removed, and depending on how ugly the infighting is, **both people will be banned temporarily** to cool off. - Be chill.
Be chill. Folks are here seeking and offering advice. Politely contribute.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
