What this page is

This page quotes r/microblading's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-08. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/microblading's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

A sub for all things microblading and cosmetic tattoo! (Yes, it’s a tattoo!) Feel free to post about any form of cosmetic tattoo - brows (microblading, powder, nano, and etc), lip blush/liner, eyeliner, etc. A community for professionals and consumers to discuss it all. Self promotion is ONLY allowed on the sticky mega thread, all other self promo posts will be removed. DIY and ‘at home’ removal posts/ comments are not allowed. There are plenty of professional options available.

What its rules say about promotion

No spam or self promotion
Spamming the sub with self promo is not allowed and multiple mod actions may result in mute/ban If it comes up naturally in conversation and the context is appropriate, or someone asks you for your links, you may share them. (Watermarking your photo is fine), your post MUST contribute something to the conversation other than an ad. If you want CC on your work you may post photos but if it appears to be spammy we will remove your post and take necessary action if it is an ongoing issue.
DIY Tattoos or Removals
Posts about DIY or at home tattooing or tattooing without proper training/licensure/etc are not allowed. Posting links to products, pigments, tutorials, etc. will result in a ban. Links to resources for training, licensing, etc are allowed on a case by case basis but will be removed if they fall under self promo/spam. This includes at home/DIY removal techniques (which are dangerous and can have detrimental results so please just don't).
All 9 rules of r/microblading
  2. No bullying / hate speech
Hate speech of any kind is prohibited. This forum is a safe space for everyone and remarks about sexual identity, race, religion, etc. will result in a permanent ban. Bickering, name calling, and trolling are not allowed. You are welcome to give honest, constructive criticism but being unnecessarily rude will not be tolerated. Irrelevant comments about someone's appearance (not their tattoo) is never allowed.
  3. Professional Artists
If you are a professional artist and want to be recognized as such, please contact a mod to be verified and have your artist flair added.
  4. NO Medical Advice
Discussion of medical advice, including infection or possible allergic reaction is NOT allowed. If you are having a medical issue with your tattoo, contact your artist and seek help from a medical professional. Do not rely on strangers on the internet for medical advice. Posts asking for or providing medical advice will be removed and could result in a ban/mute.
  6. Don't post work that isn't YOURS
Do not post or repost work that isn't your own, or on your own body for the sole purpose of sharing it. Do not claim work as your own if it isn't. These posts will be removed as spam if they do not contribute anything to the conversation, are repetitive, or are spammy.
  7. False or misinformation
Opinions are fine, but blatantly false misinformation/disinformation is not allowed.
  8. Aftercare questions
If you are posting about aftercare, before posting ask yourself: Did I receive aftercare instructions from my artist? Is this a question I should be asking my artist? Am I potentially freaking out for a reason my artist already explained to me? If the answer to ANY of these questions is yes, reach out to your artist and get their advice.
  9. Politics
This is a sub about cosmetic tattoo, politics have no business here. The ONLY exception to this rule would be for legislation that applies directly to permanent makeup/tattooing.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
