What its rules say about promotion
Direct Retailer Links Only
Your link must go to the actual product page at the retailer selling it. No homepages, category pages, search results, aggregator sites, deal blogs, Linktrees, or link shorteners. Screenshot-only posts are removed. If we can't click straight through to the shoe, it's gone. Exception: Mod posts linking midsoledeals.com are permitted, distinguished as mod content, and tagged (ad). This sub is operated by that site — see the sidebar. No other blogs are permitted, including approved contributors'.
No Affiliate Links Except Approved Contributors
Affiliate links, referral codes, and monetized redirects are removed on sight and the account is permanently banned. Approved Contributor exception: A small number of users are approved to post affiliate links. Approved contributors must: Tag every monetized post (ad) in the title Post no more than 10 deals per week Meet the 20% minimum discount on every post Link only to direct retailer product pages — never a personal blog, Linktree, or shortener Approval is granted at mod discretion, is no
No Self-Promotion or Content Farming
Don't post your own blog, channel, Discord, newsletter, app, or store, and don't post deals sourced from your own site. Monetized or not. Small brands and independent makers may request approval in modmail before posting. We occasionally say yes to genuinely interesting product. We say no to content farms, dropshippers, reseller pages, and anyone whose first Reddit activity is promoting themselves. Posting first and asking later is an automatic no.
Account Requirements
Standard retailer deals: account 90+ days old, 100+ combined karma Amazon and eBay deals: account 1+ year old, 500+ combined karma Accounts with no activity outside this sub, or with post karma but effectively no comment history, are treated as link-drop accounts and removed. Ban evasion is permanent and not appealable. These thresholds exist to stop affiliate spam. They aren't personal and they aren't negotiable. All 11 rules of r/midsoledeals
- Be Respectful
Keep it constructive. Criticism of a deal is fine; harassment, slurs, or targeting other users is not. If negativity is all you bring, you'll be removed. - Tag Your Post Correctly
very post needs the correct flair/tag. Untagged posts are removed automatically. Retag and repost if this happens. - New In Box Only — No Used, Worn, or Returns
No used, worn, "like new," "try-on only," B-grade, refurbished, or open-box listings. No links to individual seller listings on eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Grailed, or Facebook Marketplace. Deadstock only. - Direct Retailer Links Only

Exception: Mod posts linking midsoledeals.com are permitted, distinguished as mod content, and tagged (ad). This sub is operated by that site — see the sidebar. No other blogs are permitted, including approved contributors'. - Approved Sellers
Post from brand sites (Nike, Adidas, New Balance, etc.), authorized retailers (Foot Locker, JD, Dick's, Hibbett, Nordstrom, Zappos, etc.), or these resale platforms: GOAT, StockX, Stadium Goods, Flight Club, Kixify. Anything else needs mod approval first. Reps, unauthorized sellers, and dropshippers = permanent ban, no appeal. - Real Discounts Only — 20% Minimum
Deals must be at least 20% off current retail, verified against the actual MSRP, not an inflated "compare at" price. Post the price and discount in your title. Removed: expired deals, price errors already patched, reposts of a deal already on the front page, and clearance leftovers with fewer than four sizes remaining or only extreme sizes (below 7 / above 14). - No Affiliate Links Except Approved Contributors
Affiliate links, referral codes, and monetized redirects are removed on sight and the account is permanently banned. Approved Contributor exception: A small number of users are approved to post affiliate links. Approved contributors must: Tag every monetized post (ad) in the title Post no more than 10 deals per week Meet the 20% minimum discount on every post Link only to direct retailer product pages — never a personal blog, Linktree, or shortener Approval is granted at mod discretion, is no - No Self-Promotion or Content Farming

You're welcome to browse and comment while you build history — that's how you me - Posting Limits, Appeals, and Modmail Conduct
Maximum 4 posts per user per 24 hours. No duplicate posts and no dumping a whole clearance page. Appeals: you get one. Send a single modmail explaining what you think we got wrong. We'll review it and reply once. Repeated messages, follow-ups asking if we're there, or re-litigating a decision will result in a mute. Threatening to report the sub is not an appeal and ends the conversation. - Curation Is at Mod Discretion
This is a curated deal feed, not an automated one. Mods remove posts that don't meet the bar for this community even when no specific rule applies — bottom-of-the-barrel clearance, dead colorways with two sizes left, low-effort volume posting, off brand, out of style of the subs zeitgeist, or anything that reads as offloading inventory rather than sharing a find. This is subjective by design and not up for debate. Removals under this rule aren't a judgment about you.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
