What this page is
This page quotes r/nanaimo's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-11. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/nanaimo's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about promotion
Respectful Conduct
This community fosters an inclusive environment. Any content that promotes or condones racism, bigotry, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or discrimination based on any other protected characteristic will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban. We expect all members to treat each other with respect and understanding.
Self-Promotion Limits
To maintain a community-focused environment, direct self-promotion (including personal blogs, businesses, social media, surveys, academic studies, etc.) is limited to the designated weekly "Self-Promotion Friday" thread. Outside of this thread, please contribute to the community organically. If you're unsure whether your post counts as self-promotion, please message the moderators. All crowdfunding material is prohibited unless prior approval is received from the moderation team.
No Illegal Content
Suggesting, promoting, facilitating, or glorifying illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, discussions of illegal drug use, theft, vandalism, or any other activity that violates local, provincial, or federal laws. Such content will be removed, and the user may be banned.

Please engage with each other in a constructive and courteous manner. Focus on the content of the discussion, not on attacking other users. - Self-Promotion Limits

To keep the subreddit relevant and useful for our local community, all posts and comments should directly relate to Nanaimo, British Columbia, or the surrounding areas. Broad or unrelated topics should be posted in more appropriate subreddits.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
