What this page is

This page quotes r/NICUParents's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/NICUParents's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Having a baby in the NICU is a hard thing to go through. This is a community for those affiliated with the NICU, be you a parent, sibling, grandparent, or medical professional all are welcome. Angel mom's count too, and we love seeing your children grow, stick around post NICU too!

What its rules say about promotion

No Ads
No advertising that has not been previously approved by a moderator.
Excessive blog post
Posting your blog on occasion is fine as long as you are active on this subreddit.
Sharing other social media links
You can only share things like your youtube, facebook, instagram, tiktok, etc. if you're an active member of the sub. Main meaning is don't just come in, drop your youtube link, and be on your way. We don't want to be spammed by your links.
All 12 rules of r/NICUParents
  1. "it gets better" phrasing
While rooted in good intentions, this phrase and similar can be insensitive as unfortunately it does not always get better for everyone. Do not use this phrase or anything with similar potential for insensitivity.
  2. Flair
Flair will be required for any possibly heavily triggering content. This is especially true for the Angel Baby flair. Please use the appropriate post flair for this and make sure to mark posts with possibly triggering photos as NSFW. Flair is NOT required outside of this. However, we have flairs for various other common post types and encourage their use.
  3. Flaming
No flaming or excessively rude comments
  4. Be Kind
Be kind to others and be supportive, It's why we're all here.
  5. No Ads
No advertising that has not been previously approved by a moderator.
  6. Spam
Spam is not allowed. If spam is not caught by the filter, please report it.
  7. Excessive blog post
Posting your blog on occasion is fine as long as you are active on this subreddit.
  8. Soliciting money or otherwise - See here
We no longer allow surveys or solicitations for information or money. You are welcome to make a post asking for comments on a topic, but no links to outside data collection. Money solicitations are a hard no, it's near impossible to determine legitimacy.
  9. Sharing other social media links
You can only share things like your youtube, facebook, instagram, tiktok, etc. if you're an active member of the sub. Main meaning is don't just come in, drop your youtube link, and be on your way. We don't want to be spammed by your links.
  10. No blocking or arguing with Moderators.
The mods here have final say so in a decision about the community or ruling. If you have a personal issue if they say something to you take it up in a private message with them. If they have taken an action with you or state that you have broken a rule and you want to speak about it do so privately. We do not want drama spreading in what should be a peaceful place for parents in a delicate situation. Blocking anyone in the mod team will result in an immediate permanent ban.
  11. Fed is best, No shaming formula use.
We believe that a baby with a full belly is a happy baby, a lot of NICU moms don't get their milk or for whatever reason cannot supply breast milk to their baby(ies). As such we won't tolerate shaming for using formula outright or otherwise. Fed is best.
  12. Seeking medical or legal advice
This content was removed as it was deemed to be seeking medical and/or legal advice, or otherwise encouraging possibly dangerous situations unintentionally or otherwise. There are subreddits for legal and medical advice at r/medical_advice and r/legaladvice

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
