Can you promote on r/Nigeria?
No rule mentions promotion None of its rules mentions self-promotion. That is not permission: read every rule, say plainly that it's yours, and make the post useful on its own.
What this page is
This page quotes r/Nigeria's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Nigeria's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Welcome to r/Nigeria! 🇳🇬 Home to conversations about the people, cultures, stories and everyday realities of Africa's most populous country and the world's largest Black nation. We celebrate what makes us proud, speak honestly about what holds us back and welcome the many experiences that make Nigeria what it is, so we can learn from one another and better understand the country we share. Please remember that bigotry and disrespect have no place here 💚
All 9 rules of r/Nigeria
- Personal attacks are not allowed.
Heated debates are allowed, but do not subject other users to **targeted harassment and malevolent abuse.** - Sexism, hate speech or bigotry is not allowed
• Don't resort to personal or general attacks based on **ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs**. • Do not make posts about **"what do you think of the LGBT+ Nigerians?"** or anything of a similar nature. This community is a safe space for queer Nigerians and their existence is not up for debate. • Racism and **"Nigerian Prince"** jokes are strictly prohibited. - No Flair
It is strongly advised that you select a **USER FLAIR** so that your posts and comments have context. More on why [**HERE.**](https://www.reddit.com/r/Nigeria/comments/i62sub/regarding_user_flairs_diaspora_nigerians_the_lgbt/?) If you don't know how to select a flair, [**MESSAGE THE MOD TEAM TO HELP YOU ASSIGN ONE.**](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FNigeria) - Off-topic and trolling is not allowed.

A non-exhaustive list of examples of spam: -Relationship issues: please go to r/Nigerianrelationships -Redirects to low quality journal articles such as Instablog, Linda Ikeji's blog, etc. - Misinformation is not allowed
The spread of **misinformation** is not allowed. - All posts must be related to Nigeria
- If you post a link to a news article, you must comments your thoughts about it.
If you post a link to a news article, you must follow up with a comment about your thoughts regarding the content of the news article you just posted. Exceptions will only be made for important breaking news articles. The point of this rule is to reduce and/or eliminate the number of bots and users who just spam the sub with links to news articles, and to also make sure this sub isn't just overrun with news articles. - Source your claims
If you post images and videos that contain or make reference to data, a piece of information or an excerpt from a news piece, kindly add a source in the comments or your post will be removed.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
