What this page is

All 11 rules of r/NursingAU
- Review the FAQs before contributing to the subreddit.
This is to reduce duplication and low-quality posts. Repetitive posts will be removed at the mod's discretion. - All contributions must be related to Nursing in Australia
We are an Australian subreddit for Australian nurses, nursing students, and other clinicians where their query is related to nursing. - Be kind and courteous to others.
Don’t be a dickhead. No personal insults. If you wouldn’t say it to a colleague, don’t say it here. - No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or generalisations about one specific demographic.
This is at the mod's discretion. - No low-quality contributions or contributions in bad faith
This rule will be enforced at mod's discretion, however some guiding principles are: When asking for advice, have a question with scope and reasoning that would be able to be answered. Do not post vague questions where intent is unknown or unable to be ascertained. Don't make lazy sweeping and standalone statements designed to provoke arguments, like all "doctors are horrible/ fantastic". These are low quality, in bad faith, and do not contribute to the subreddit. - Do not post confidential or identifying information
Remember your professional obligations. - Do not give out or seek medical advice
We cannot account for everyone’s credentials, so please do not give out medical advice to others. Likewise, please do not seek medical advice in this subreddit. - Do not plagiarise or request others to complete work for you
This includes tertiary assignments and job applications. - Do not advocate for unsafe or illegal practices
We are an evidence-based profession, and we expect you to produce high quality evidence-based literature to support any assertions you make. Further, this is a pro-vaccination subreddit. Anti-vax sentiments will not be tolerated. - No advertising without mod approval
Job advertisements, advertisements for specific brands, apps, products, or websites is not permitted. Research studies may be posted if ethics approval is attained and evidence can be provided to the mods - please seek approval from the mods prior to posting. - Account age and minimum karma requirements
Accounts must be at least 3 days old with 25 karma minimum. This is to prevent bots, astro-turfing, and low-quality contributions that unfortunately fill up the feed otherwise. If your post or comment has been removed, please participate in other subreddits before coming back to join us.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
