What this page is
This page quotes r/Ohio's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Ohio's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about promotion
No Advertisements
Personal and commercial advertisements are not appropriate here and will be subject to removal. Repeated abuse of this may lead to a ban.
All 7 rules of r/Ohio
- Reddit rules.
https://www.redditinc.com/policies/content-policy https://www.reddithelp.com/en/categories/reddit-101/reddit-basics/reddiquette - Submissions must be directly related to Ohio.
All posts must be specific to Ohio, not merely inclusive of it. A national story that references Ohio is not an Ohio story but one that belongs in a general subreddit. Anything that is determined to not be related to Ohio may be removed at a moderator’s discretion. - No Personal Attacks
**Be civil.** Posts or comments deemed to be ad hominem, or attacking a user instead of the position they are maintaining, will be removed. Such content may be removed at a moderator’s discretion, and may lead to a ban. There are a million and one colorful ways to say that someone is completely wrong, and we invite you to develop some new, sharp ways to complain or tell each other off without triggering the AutoMod - No Advertisements
Personal and commercial advertisements are not appropriate here and will be subject to removal. Repeated abuse of this may lead to a ban. - No Bigotry, Slurs, NSFW, Offensive Content
Hate speech directed towards an entire group of people who share a race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, nationality, social status or disability is not allowed. This also applies to user names. If you think a word has negative connotations, don't use it. Not even "coded" bigotry. Not even when you're "just posting facts." Find another way to say it, preferably a politically correct way. Failure to comply will result in a ban. Also see Rule #1 for Reddit's official stance. - Sources Required for Informational Posts
All posts should link to source material for information, where applicable. If your aunt's friend's mother posted on Facebook about OSU shutting down to make way for THE real OU, it better include a link to the original article. Posts making [mis]informational claims without a source will be removed, and subject to further moderator action at our discretion. Note that neither screenshots nor social media posts meet the criteria for credible sources. - No Spam or Memes
No memes. No low-effort posts. No spam. No cross-posting the same article to every state sub - if it effects every state it belongs in a national subreddit. Limit daily posts, or we will. A whole new post as an update to an existing post could be considered spam. Spam is not news articles from official news organizations. Spam is not a post or link that you disagree with.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
