Can you promote on r/oil?
No rule mentions promotion None of its rules mentions self-promotion. That is not permission: read every rule, say plainly that it's yours, and make the post useful on its own.

What its rules say about AI and bots
AI Slop
Low effort AI slop, put a little effort into your prompts at least
All 6 rules of r/oil
- Lazy speculation or financial shitpost
Being a global commodity, oil market news is worth discussing on this subreddit. However, lazy speculation shitposts that involve individual stocks, open ended questions that can be answered with Google, or other shitposts will be removed. This is not a place to discuss investment strategy. This is not WallStreeBets. - Editorialization
The extraction of hydrocarbons does come with some level of political controversy. Generally, the mod team remains agnostic to political viewpoints, but posts with links to articles must match that particular article title as best as possible. You can post your opinion of the article in the comments. Self-posts with articles copied in whole are not exempt. - Politics, Memes, Shitpost
This is not a subreddit for slacktivism. Lazy shitposts and low value content can be removed. Valid, insightful discussion is encouraged. - Spam and Offtopic
This is for all other content that does not align with the subreddit. - Iran War
Unless directly about the oil industry and its impact from the war, general war/geopolitical/politics etc of the war will be removed Poster will be banned for one week for ignoring this. - AI Slop

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
