Can you promote on r/okinawa?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/okinawa's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-11. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/okinawa's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No Spam
No one cares about the t-shirt you're selling with the image you stole from someone else. If you have a Youtube channel or something, feel free to share your videos but don't spam. If you're sharing your own content here, you're expected to engage with the community here too and not only post links to your own content. Content should be related to Okinawa
All 5 rules of r/okinawa
  1. Don't be a Dick
Sometimes things can get heated and that's fine, but unnecessarily antagonistic comments and juvenile, uncivil name calling will be removed and potentially come with a ban.
  2. No Anti-Science Nonsense or Misinformation
Misinformation will not be tolerated, especially in regards to health related issues.
  3. No Discussion of Sexual Services or Hookups
Unless it's a major news story, please refrain from posting about sexual services here. This isn't a subreddit to find a hookup or a "massage".
  4. No Spam
No one cares about the t-shirt you're selling with the image you stole from someone else. If you have a Youtube channel or something, feel free to share your videos but don't spam. If you're sharing your own content here, you're expected to engage with the community here too and not only post links to your own content. Content should be related to Okinawa
  5. Pictures go in Albums
To cut down on the front page being flooded with posts of a single picture, please submit albums instead of individual pictures if you have multiple pictures to share.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
