What this page is

This page quotes r/PokemonROMhacks's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/PokemonROMhacks's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Welcome to r/PokemonROMhacks, where you can find and discuss ROM hacks of Pokémon games!

What its rules say about promotion

Prohibited Posts
Do not post the following: - Let's Plays / Walkthroughs - "Idea" Threads - Team/Shiny/Hall of Fame Screenshots - Low Effort Posts (e.g. just showing what you're playing) ROM Hack Reviews and Showcases are allowed. Exceptions may be made, for example if the post promotes a new or underrated hack.
Questions Must Be Posted in Pinned Questions Thread
To reduce spam, questions should only be posted in the Pinned Questions Thread. The [PokéCommunity Discord](https://discord.com/invite/pokecommunity) (unaffiliated) is also a great place to ask for help.

What its rules say about AI and bots

AI Assisted / Generated Content
Content that is primarily AI Generated or reliant on AI will be removed. AI Assisted content is allowed for development purposes, as long as the content is primarily man-made. Content is reviewed case-by-case, taking into account the context, quality and level of AI use and community reception. If AI use is evident, it should be disclosed. Posts attracting low-quality engagement may be removed. Toxic comments and AI Box Art posts will also be removed. [Read more](https://tinyurl.com/AIROM6)

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
