Can you promote on r/Polymarket?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/Polymarket's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Polymarket's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No Spam, Shilling, or Referral Link Farms
No affiliate/referral links, no "use my code" posts, no promoting your paid prediction group / Discord / Telegram alpha channel. If your post history is 100% self-promotion, you’re a billboard, not a community member.
No Market Manipulation or Wash Trading Discussion
Do not coordinate buying/selling to manipulate market prices. Do not discuss or encourage wash trading, spoofing, or any activity that would violate Polymarket’s Terms of Service. "Let’s all buy YES to pump it" is not a strategy — it’s a TOS violation and probably a crime in at least three jurisdictions.
All 10 rules of r/Polymarket
  1. Be Civil, We Trade on Events, Not Each Other
No personal attacks, harassment, slurs, doxxing, or threats. You can disagree with someone’s position without questioning their intelligence, ancestry, or portfolio. Heated debate about market odds is fine. Heated debate about someone’s mother is not.
  2. No Financial Advice (Seriously, We Mean It)
Don’t tell people to ape into a market. You can share your analysis, your positions, and your reasoning, but phrases like "guaranteed free money" or "trust me bro, slam YES" will be removed. Everyone here is an adult making their own terrible decisions.
  3. No Spam, Shilling, or Referral Link Farms
No affiliate/referral links, no "use my code" posts, no promoting your paid prediction group / Discord / Telegram alpha channel. If your post history is 100% self-promotion, you’re a billboard, not a community member.
  4. Flair Your Posts (It’s Not Hard)
All posts must use an appropriate flair. Unflaired posts will be removed by AutoMod and you’ll be gently (but firmly) asked to resubmit. See the flair guide in Section 3.
  6. No Misinformation to Move Markets
Posting fake news, fabricated screenshots, or misleading information designed to influence market prices is strictly prohibited. We’re a prediction market sub, not a disinformation lab. Cite your sources or expect pushback.
  7. Keep Politics Relevant to Markets
Political discussion is fine ONLY when directly tied to an active or potential Polymarket market. "Here’s my analysis of the presidential election market" = great. "Here’s why [politician] is literally the devil" = go to r/politics. We’re here for the odds, not the opinions.
  8. No Low-Effort "What Does This Market Mean?" Posts
If you can answer your own question by reading the market description for 30 seconds, the post will be removed. Screenshots of a market with the title "thoughts?" are the participation trophies of Reddit content. Put in some effort.
  9. Gains/Loss Porn Requires Context
Posting your portfolio gains or losses is welcome, but you MUST include: (a) the market(s) involved, (b) your reasoning at time of entry, and (c) what you learned. A screenshot of +$10k with the caption "lmao" teaches nobody anything. A screenshot with your thesis is alpha.
  10. Respect Resolution (Don’t Be a Sore Loser)
When a market resolves, the result is the result. Endless posts claiming the resolution was rigged, corrupt, or wrong (without substantial evidence) will be removed. If you genuinely believe a resolution was incorrect, use Polymarket’s official dispute process — the team monitors it closely.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
