What this page is
This page quotes r/PsychologyTalk's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-11. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/PsychologyTalk's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about promotion
No self-promotion
Please do not make posts or comments advertising services, groups, or content of your own making without permission.
Research
All research must follow this route: 1: Make your post on r/studies. 2: Message modmail here including a link to your post on r/studies. 3: When granted permission, please repost/crosspost/share your post on r/studies to this subreddit. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to modmail.
No Promoting Self-Diagnosis
There are many factors that go into the diagnostic process other than meeting a set of criteria listed for a disorder. Only a qualified clinician an or should diagnose the majority of medical and psychiatric conditions. To assert self-diagnosis is adequate is reckless in that is diminishes the quality of care and treatment an individual may receive.
All 10 rules of r/PsychologyTalk
- Keep on Topic
Please keep posts and comments on topic. This is not the space for unrelated politics or other subjects not directly or obviously related to the discussion of psychology. - No self-promotion

Posts and comments should be fair and not targeted at others. Disrespectful language will not be tolerated. - Quality links & Sources
All sources should be from high quality sites or otherwise uphold academic standards. This may mean peer review, adequate credentials, and/or being a commonly trusted source of information. - Speculation
If you are speculating, do so ethically, in which you state that you are speculating and are not drawing from on-hand evidence. Bold unsupported claims that may alienate others, support unethical practices, or create hostility may be removed at moderator discretion. - Verification
If you would like to become verified as a clinician or other individual with experience or education that gives you a level of credibility above average users, please message modmail so we can privately verify this information and provide you with the proper flair. Claiming to be a clinician or credentialed individual without verification may result in removal of content at moderator discretion. - No Diagnosing
This is a space for discussion, not asking for a personal evaluation of yourself or others. Nobody here may suggest or request a diagnosis. - This subreddit is not a space for requesting assistance
If you are struggling, there are many spaces on and off reddit that are appropriate for help. This space is specifically for discussing topics related to psychology. - No Promoting Self-Diagnosis
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
