What this page is
This page quotes r/QuantumComputing's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/QuantumComputing's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Academic discussion of all things quantum computing from hardware through algorithms. Not the place for business speculation, memes, or philosophy.
What its rules say about promotion
Posts cannot be for advertisement.
Projects and self made tools can be shared for the sake of QC discussion. You cannot post for promotion reasons. Posts will be removed at the Mod team's discretion depending on if it fosters the type of discussion we expect. Pretending you're only seeking feedback for something counts as self-promotion.
What its rules say about AI and bots
Posts must meet our quality standards.
All posts must following these guidelines: * Your post should look high quality. Review your writing to make sure it's clear. Excessive spelling or sentence errors may confuse readers. * Your post must be on-topic for quantum computing. For example, topics such as investment in QC or speculation on QC companies are not on-topic. * Your post cannot be AI-generated. * Posts must reflect a genuine interest to discuss something about QC. This means no memes/shitposting.

Questions that are about career/education advice and not quantum computing itself are only allowed in the weekly megathread. Please leave a comment there instead of making a full post. - No incoherent or crank posts
This is not the place to post your own independent research. This includes quantum mysticism, discussions about consciousness, claiming you solved P=NP, clearly not knowing the basics that you are posting about, etc. If you're confused whether or not you're making a crank post, consult this checklist: https://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/crackpot.html. - Posts cannot be for advertisement.

Link posts must have either a body or a starter comment that introduces the linked content. - Account age must be at least 2 days old to post.
Not enough karma or new account - this is to protect from spam. Ignoring this rule will get you temporarily or permanently banned by the AutoMod. - Posts/comments must be in English

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
