Can you promote on r/realtors?

For discussion about what it means to be a Realtor or Real Estate Agent. Industry-specific news, ideas, questions, stories and anything related to the business of selling real estate. The term REALTOR™ is a registered trademark of the National Association of Realtors. This subreddit is not affiliated with the National Association of Realtors (NAR) but many of the subscribers are members of NAR. We are a professional forum and professionals should adhere to the NAR Code of Ethics.

What its rules say about promotion

No Promotional Posts (SPAM), Recruitment, or Referral Seeking
It is not acceptable to create any post, comment, or PM promoting a business, product, service, brokerage, or brand. This includes blogs, vlogs, or links for SEO. Don't give free accounts, ask to test, or ask for opinions. Don't ask for surveys or for ideas/feedback for new products. No soliciting for referrals or recruiting. Giving referrals is ok. Linking to a business in the comments is acceptable provided you are not self-promoting. No taking the discussion off reddit or into PMs.

  2. No Irrelevant Topics or Seeking Legal/Tax Advice
    Articles should foster relevant discussion, or involve some sort of question. You can not seek legal or tax advice here. Contact and attorney or tax accountant. Discussions about technology, third-party vendors, or platforms used in the real estate business should be posted in r/RealEstateTechnology. If it is a general real estate question, your post may be more suitable at r/RealEstate.
  3. No Hate, Bullying, Doxing, Bashing Realtors or Brokerages
    a. Absolutely no racism, sexism, or any other type of discrimination talk of any kind about any group. => Immediate permanent ban without warning. b. Bullying and abusive language includes insulting, mocking or just being plain rude to other redditors. => Grounds for a permanent or temporary ban with a minimum of one warning. c. Bashing Realtors In General, Specific Realtors, or Brokerages. => Immediate permanent ban without warning. - Not all Realtors are bad, don't bring your bias here.
  4. Adhere to the NAR's Code of Ethics
    Adhere to the [NAR's Code of Ethics](https://www.nar.realtor/about-nar/governing-documents/the-code-of-ethics) - Members of NAR posting and commenting here should not violate or give advice that would violate the code of ethics. If you are not a NAR member and give advice in relation to ethical concerns, please refer to the code of ethics and let the public know of your non-membership. Any content disparaging NAR will be removed.
  5. No Antitrust, including commissions and splits
    Do not make any conversation that would violate federal antitrust laws. Usually, this involves discussing what commission rates or fees are to be charged to consumers and how. Other possible violations of antitrust could be discussing broker splits or organizing business practices that may be seen as stifling competition.
  6. No Repetitive Topic or Question
    There are lots of posts that are very common and discouraged. Posts about being a new or part time Realtor, lead generation, technology, etc. are discouraged. Try searching our subreddit, using the FAQ, or posting at r/RealEstateTechnology
  7. No Technology, Vendor and Educator Discussions - try r/RealEstateTechnology
    Discussions about technology, third-party vendors, or platforms used in the real estate business are not wanted. This includes software, tools, educators, and services that agents buy or subscribe to for their business. Please post these discussions in r/RealEstateTechnology. This includes but is not limited to any and all software, subscription services, lead generation services, CRMs, IDX providers, website providers, transaction management services, dialers, mailers, etc.
  8. No Transaction Advice From Non-Realtors - try r/AskRealEstateAgents
    Questions from the general public seeking advice on their real estate transactions or working with Realtors are not allowed. Please post these questions in r/AskRealEstateAgents.
  9. No Listings for Sale - try r/RealEstateForSale
    Listings for sale/lease are not permitted here. Post your real estate listing for sale at /r/RealEstateForSale.
  10. No Paywalls
    Links to websites with paywalls are not permitted.
