Can you promote on r/recruitinghell?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

AI-generated content not allowed Its rules remove some or all AI-generated posts, comments or media. Write it yourself here, or pick another community. Other communities' AI rules.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Did a recruiter make you send them a resume and still fill out all the same information on their website? Did a candidate send a cover letter that just says "PLEASE LET ME WORK HERE"? Tell us those stories!

What its rules say about promotion

No Spam
It SHOULD go without saying, but no spam. Spam is defined as any attempt to pitch a product, service, or seek people for jobs. Posting spam will get you banned. If you want to advertise on Reddit, buy ads. [We don't want to hear about your AI slop](https://www.reddit.com/r/recruitinghell/comments/1rhrhka). If you're on Reddit to promote your product, and you start "subtly" guiding the conversation towards what it provides, this is spam too.

What its rules say about AI and bots

No Spam
It SHOULD go without saying, but no spam. Spam is defined as any attempt to pitch a product, service, or seek people for jobs. Posting spam will get you banned. No AI Slop.
AI content will be immediately removed. This includes images, AI-written posts, comments, and potentially content on linked sites. It ALSO includes content where AI was "just used to tidy up thoughts". We would much rather read your own words, and anybody mocking language skills should be reported for incivility. People come to Reddit to talk to other people, not robots.
All 8 rules of r/recruitinghell
  1. Be civil.
Needless personal attacks against a person's skills, abilities, or other part of the recruiting efforts will lead to disciplinary action. Opinions are fine, but don't go out of your way to provoke arguments and start fights. Be mindful of [Reddiquette](https://www.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439).
  2. No Spam

  3. Don't go off topic
Don't go off topic. Some examples of posts that will be removed: * Minor typos or errors as the entire point of a post. (e.g., $10/year instead of $10/hour) * Common reposts * Duplicates * "I lied on my résumé and now I'm facing consequences" * Low-effort posts
  4. Don't be racist/xenophobic
Don't be racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist etc. Slurs and hate speech will result in disciplinary action. Encouraging someone to kill themselves is also a one-strike ban, and I can't believe that I have to explicitly tell anyone that.
  5. No direct links to a job
Do not link directly to a recruiting website (e.g., LinkedIn) or job ad.
  6. No AI Slop.
AI content will be immediately removed. This includes images, AI-written posts, comments, and potentially content on linked sites. It ALSO includes content where AI was "just used to tidy up thoughts". We would much rather read your own words, and anybody mocking language skills should be reported for incivility. 7. Do not post personal information
No posting of personal information. Please block out all identifying information including personal names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, social media handles, and pictures. Company names may be posted. This is a [site-wide Reddit rule](https://www.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043066452), not just one for our sub.
  8. Be respectful of the volunteer mods.
Being a dick towards the volunteer mods will get you voluntold off this subreddit. We're just trying to keep the community peaceful, don't make our lives difficult. If your initial reaction to being informed of the rules and asked to tone it down is to turn your rulebreaking up to 11, don't expect to stay here too long. So please don't do that.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
