What this page is
This page quotes r/roleplaying's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-12. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/roleplaying's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
🧷 No Unapproved Links
Links must be approved. You can advertise places to roleplay here, but the site must be approved first. Message the moderators if you would like your site added to the affiliated sites listings. No community may be shared more than once a month We require that all communities shared here have a comparable ruleset in certain matters. If your community allows underage sexual content or beastiality, it cannot be shared here.
All 9 rules of r/roleplaying
- 🏆 Respect
Treat others and yourself with respect. This is a community and you're expected to contribute with nothing but the best intentions. **Kindness is free.** - 🔞 NSFW Content
👍 Suggesting adult themes and scenarios in your post is allowed. **YOU MUST ADD THE NSFW TAG** 👎 Do not post thirsty, descriptive, vulgar, offensive NSFW language **in any post!** No **KINKS** in your post. Save it for DMs. - 🍆 No Pornography
**Pornographic images**, links and so on are completely forbidden. Any posting of them will result in an immediate, permanent ban. There are many subs for that. This is not one of them. This rule also applies to communities intended for sharing pornography - 👿 No exchange of personal information
Do not exchange personal information in anyway on the sub. No asking for KIK handles or Discord UNs, nor can they be included in posts. All such exchanges must occur in PMs - 🧷 No Unapproved Links

Fictional character or real person, everyone involved must be at least 18 years of age. Failure to comply with these rules is an instant ban. No warnings will be given. - 💬 Crossposting
Crossposting from NSFW subreddits is not allowed. - 🚫 No roleplaying in the subreddit
This is a subreddit **about** roleplaying, not a sub *for* roleplaying. Please do not roleplay in the subreddit, take it to PMs. - 😕 Posting too often
Please wait at least **12 hours** after your last post before you submit another one!
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
