What this page is
This page quotes r/SCP's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/SCP's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
No fiction in text posts
• Do not post original textual fiction, completed or otherwise, as text posts or comments. (This includes SCPs, tales, etc.) Please _do_ link to articles you post to the Wiki, though! • SCP draft posts must link to your [Drafts Critique Forum](http://scpwiki.com/forum/c-50864) thread. • Just idea posts are not allowed on r/SCP. See the [Ideas Critique forum](http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/c-89000) instead.
No advertising social spaces
This refers to chat rooms and forums. Don't post links to your unaffiliated Discord, subreddit, etc. on this subreddit. Bluesky, Instagram, etc. links are fine, as are Steam pages and such which have _incidental_ social features but which exist primarily for other purposes.
No Bright stuff
Discussion/promotion/adaptations of articles or characters created by the user DrBright (aka TheDuckman) are not allowed. This includes Jack Bright/Elias Shaw, SCP-963, etc. and applies to art, crafts, films, video games, etc. See [these](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/bright-works-message) [pages](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/bright-list-deletion-message) for more information. Exception requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis for works created prior to Dr. Bright's ban.
What its rules say about AI and bots
No AI generated content
AI-generated content - images, text, etc. - is not allowed on this subreddit and may result in a permanent ban. This includes AI-edited text, AI-enhanced images, etc. Google Translate is fine.
All 11 rules of r/SCP
- All posts must be directly related to the SCP Wiki or adaptations of SCP Wiki content
Posts need to directly relate to the SCP Foundation Wiki and adaptations (art, video games, films, crafts, etc.) Fan-made SCPs not posted on the wikis, "what if [other fictitious thing] was an SCP," or unrelated things that "look like an SCP / should be an SCP" are not allowed on this subreddit. Content based on sister sites - like our international branches - is allowed. - Follow Reddiquette / Don't Be a Dick
Follow the rules of our site, Reddit. Don't upvote-beg, don't doxx, don't spam, etc. Be nice to people, don't dogpile, and report rulebreaking content rather than arguing or mocking. Critique is a good thing, but mockery isn't (and creating a thread just to name and shame articles you dislike **definitely** isn't.) The Reddiquette document can be found here - https://www.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439 - Overdone posts will be removed
Check Reddit search before posting. Overdone posts include: containment/termination proposals or cross-testing for well-known series 1 SCPs, low-effort questions like "what is your favorite SCP?" (be more specific!), and just about anything related to powerscaling. [[More info]](http://www.reddit.com/r/SCP/comments/18zof4) There is a [special thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/SCP/comments/1vgjzy9) for non-art posts related to SCP-049, 096, 173, and 682. - No roleplaying
This is not the subreddit for SCP Roleplay! Speaking as if you are in some way in the world of the SCP Foundation or that some aspect of it is real is considered roleplaying on r/SCP, even if it's a joke. (Most of the jokes also fall under rule 3.) Roleplay spaces are available [elsewhere.](http://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/a-brief-history-of-foundation-rp) - No fiction in text posts
- No porn or shock images of any kind.
**1.** No porn, either submitted or in comments. **2.** No extremely disturbing visual images or shock sites. - Credit the original creator
If you're posting someone's work put their name in the post title and link the source in the comments. This also applies to referenced or traced images. Saying "credit to the original creator" is not crediting the original creator; you need to be specific. If you're posting a screenshot from an article, mention its name in the title. (Overdone articles/collab logs will be subject to Rule 3.) - No media posts on Thursdays. + No memes outside Mondays. + Memes have special requirements.
To vary the types of content being posted and discussed through the week: **Media posts cannot be made on Thursdays - text posts only.** **Memes and jokes may only be posted on Mondays.** **Do not attach memes to unrelated text posts.** Image content of memes on r/SCP must be related to SCP even if their title and text were to be removed. So e.g. simple object labeling memes are not accepted. **[Eastern Time](https://time.is/ET)** is used to determine when these weekly events begin and end. - No AI generated content
AI-generated content - images, text, etc. - is not allowed on this subreddit and may result in a permanent ban. This includes AI-edited text, AI-enhanced images, etc. Google Translate is fine. - No advertising social spaces

What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
