What this page is
This page quotes r/selfhelp's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-08. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/selfhelp's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

All 7 rules of r/selfhelp
- Be Respectful and Kind
Treat others with respect. Everyone here is on their own personal journey. - No Advertising or Self-Promotion
This subreddit is for personal growth and mutual support, not for promoting businesses, products, or services. Please refrain from any form of advertising, including promoting your own content, regardless of whether it is directly related to the subreddit. - No Posts or Comments Threatening or Encouraging Self-Harm

Please tag discussions related to NSFW topics appropriately if allowed, but refrain from posting explicit materials. - No Solicitation For Financial Support or Medical Advice
Please do not ask for financial support or medical advice here. We understand that financial struggles or medical issues can be overwhelming, but this subreddit is not the place to seek monetary support or medical advice. - Protect User Privacy
Do not share personal information or request private messages, DMs, or outside communication. - Use Flair and Follow Submission Guidelines
Use Flair and Follow Submission Guidelines Advice Needed: Ask for guidance on specific challenges. Sharing: Share insights, experiences, tools, or stories about growth, mindset, health, setbacks, or success.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
