Can you promote on r/Softball?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/Softball's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-13. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Softball's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

A community for fastpitch softball (rec league, travel, high school, and college). Discuss gear, coaching, player advice, recruiting, and rules. Slowpitch topics are welcome as well!

What its rules say about promotion

No site/self-promotion (READ BEFORE YOU POST YOUR APP)
Please contribute to the community first before you offer your awesome app/website/tool to the community. Even if your offering is "free" you need to ask first.
All 5 rules of r/Softball
  1. Be respectful. This will be enforced.
We welcome a wide range of discussions related to softball, but respectful behavior is expected at all times.
  2. Respect Member Privacy
This rule is specifically focused on minors participating in softball. Please be mindful when posting videos or links that feature other people's children. General game footage is acceptable, but exercise discretion and respect privacy at all times.
  3. No site/self-promotion (READ BEFORE YOU POST YOUR APP)
Please contribute to the community first before you offer your awesome app/website/tool to the community. Even if your offering is "free" you need to ask first.
  4. No politics or religion unless it touches softball. If so see rule #1.
  5. Meaningful Participation Only...the 1% Contributor Rule
Avoid commenting solely for visibility or upvotes. Contributions should reflect an understanding of the topic and add value to the discussion. Low-effort or off-topic responses may be removed and you could be banned.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
