What this page is

This page quotes r/SonyFilmSimulations's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-13. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/SonyFilmSimulations's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($49 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No Spam/Unrelevant Self-Promotion
Please share your work in a way that adds value to the community. Self-promotion—such as personal websites, products, or links—must be relevant to the subreddit, discussion, or user posts. Posting solely for marketing purposes, without contributing meaningfully to the conversation, is not allowed.
All 7 rules of r/SonyFilmSimulations
  1. Share Your Best Work
We'd love to see your best work! To keep our feed inspiring for everyone, please focus on sharing high-quality, creative, and unique shots rather than posting low effort/duplicate images all at once. Before you post, ask yourself: "Is this something I’d love to see in my own feed?" To keep things fresh and meaningful, low-effort or duplicate posts may be removed. Thanks for helping build a beautiful community!
  2. Include Recipe Name & Camera model
Mention the film simulation and camera model used in the title or comments to help others easily find and explore their favorites. Please mention if it's a custom one, or the source. If it's based on picture profiles or creative looks to help other users. Don't share paid recipes without consent no matter the source. Thanks!
  3. SOOC or Post-processed
Please mention if the work posted is a straight out of camera or post-processed/color graded/altered in any way. This helps people understand what can be possible inside the camera and what was color graded afterwards.
  4. Respectful Engagement
Treat all members with respect. Constructive criticism is encouraged, but negative or disrespectful comments will not be tolerated. Foster a supportive community.
  5. Content Relevance
All posts must be related to Sony film simulations & images taken with a Sony camera. This includes original photographs, discussions about techniques, equipment, and post-processing. Off-topic content may be removed.
  7. Attribution and Copyright
If you share someone else's work, proper attribution is required. Ensure that you have permission to post images/recipes that are not your own, and respect copyright laws.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
